Mormon cryptozoology (part 6 of the “Biblical Mythical Creatures” series)

October 17, 2009 at 5:48 pm (biblical mythical creatures, Mormonism)

Part 1, 2, 3, 4, and part 5.

Satyrs seems to be the only mythical creature in the Book of Mormon. (2 Nephi 23:21.) However, anachronisms do exist in the Book of Mormon. And if you don’t know anything more about the Book of Mormon other than it exists, know that the Book of Mormon takes place over 2900 years, from 2500 B.C.E. to 400 C.E. (Source.)

The following did not reside in the area of the United States of America at the time of the writing of the Book of Mormon:

  • Cattle
  • Elephants
  • Goats
  • Horses
  • Swine

And, of course, FAIR has an article “debunking” these claims.

The next post in the “Biblical Mythical Creatures” series will deal with the Nephilim.
