lies and homosexuality "curing" hilarity

July 22, 2009 at 5:50 am (homosexuality, humor) is campaigning to post billboards up about quotes from George Washington and the US Supreme Court trying to “prove” that this is a Christian nation. This is all fine and dandy, except that it isn’t because the quotes are either lies…

or just plain taken out of context…

The first quote was never said in any printed material by Washington. According to Wikipedia, the second quote is taken from the enlegthened quote

The central support for the Court’s ultimate conclusion that Congress did not intend the law to cover Christian ministers is its lengthy review of the “mass of organic utterances” establishing that “this is a Christian nation,” and which were taken to prove that it could not “be believed that a Congress of the United States intended to make it a misdemeanor for a church of this country to contract for the services of a Christian minister residing in another nation.

Try as you might Christians, but you cannot win by refusing to abide by historical accuracy.
