The Book of Mormon has historical errors… Even Catholics admit this

June 21, 2009 at 7:30 pm (Christ myth theories, Mormonism, theories on Jesus's parents)

http://www.catholic.com/library/Prob…_of_Mormon.asp has detailed explanations of why the Book of Mormon fails on so many accords.

Just a few examples from the article:

  • The Book of Mormon contained mass plagiarisms from the King James Version of the Bible, which contained translation errors. Because of the translation errors, the Book of Mormon has these same errors.
  • Christian history started with the Catholic church. There’s evidence to support this, while there is no evidence of Christianity beginning on the North American continent whatsoever.
  • The birth place, according to the Book of Mormon, of Jesus is in Jerusalem, but Luke 2:4-14 describes Jesus’s birthplace as being in Bethlehem. You can find an apologist vs. apologist article here. And, here is what the apologists over at FAIRMormon.org have to say.

And of course, here is what the Book of Mormon says about the Catholic Church. (Hint: it hates the Catholic Church.)
